Hello friends!
How was your weekend? If you're American, did you participate in any 4th of July festivities?
We have been waiting and waiting for our pool to be opened and it was so close on Friday (thanks, in large part, to Bob's hard work), but unfortunately, the chlorine was way too high. So my kids have now learned that just because a pool looks great doesn't mean it's safe . . .
We were invited to friends' for dessert and fireworks on Friday. Emma made the most gorgeous apple pie to take with us (I failed to take a photo of it). We enjoyed meeting several new people and catching up with our friend, Rod. He has been such a huge encouragement and a good friend to us since we've been in Virginia (if you are in Northern Virginia, he is also an excellent real estate agent!).
We have had incredibly beautiful weather this weekend, especially after heat, humidity and storms last week. Some of the kids and I love walking in to our small town on Saturday mornings. We visit the farmers' market, run errands, I get a coffee and they play at the park. There is also a creek that runs through it where they can use their nets to catch crayfish and minnows. It is a lovely place to run around or just sit quietly and enjoy the scenery.
So, today, the pool was officially ready for diving in . . . or cannon-balling in . . . or . . .
I hope you enjoyed your weekend as much as we have ours. We are all going to sleep well tonight!
Blessings and love. xo
