Weekly Menu Plan {5 January}

I'm not sure if I've officially said "Happy New Year" yet, so there you go. How has 2015 started out for you? Unfortunately, we've had sickness in our household. It's not the flu, but some nasty virus that Emma had right before Christmas and Ava came home from North Carolina with and then Bob came home from work with on New Year's Eve. The girls both ended up with bronchitis and Bob with an upper respiratory infection. The rest of us are free and clear and praying it stays that way.

I have started the new year off with a desire for a cleaner and more organized home. The girls helped take down the Christmas tree and decorations over the weekend, and Emma deep-cleaned the rooms on our main floor. I have several more spots/rooms to tackle, but it will all be worth it once it's accomplished. I am still basking in my newly-organized pantry from two weeks ago. So far we've been able to keep everything in its new place, which tells me that the way it is now organized makes more sense to all of us.

We are also off to a great start with eating healthier. Austin has been making smoothies for us every day for the past week or so. They always include fresh spinach or kale, either orange or grape juice and frozen fruit. He has come up with some delicious combinations, and we are all looking forward to them every day. I'm craving one right now! I'm also trying to drink more green tea or ginger tea, along with a few drops of Doterra lemon essential oil

Here is our plan for this week:

Monday - Fire-Pot Soup (I didn't make this last week, and it's the perfect cold, blustery day for a delicious hot soup!)

Tuesday - Bake Ziti, Caesar salad, garlic bread

Wednesday - TBD by Ben

Thursday - Penne Pinching Pasta, salad

Friday - Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken, jasmine rice

Saturday - Wedge salad, corn chowder

Sunday - Snack-y supper

Linking up with Menu Plan Monday and Mommy Run Fast.

Blessings and love. xo

  1. Oh no- so sorry some of you were sick! Why does that always happen over the holidays? I've been on an organizing kick, too. I went through my closet, finally, and got rid of 4 bags of stuff I never wear. It felt so good!

    1. Thanks, Laura! Getting rid of clutter and no-longer-needed items always feels great, doesn't it? I'm glad you stopped by. Blessings to you this week.
