Our Asheville Weekend

As we all sit by our televisions, computers, radios or however we are following the election results, I thought I'd post about our weekend.

Bob was invited to take part in the Awaken WNC solemn assembly event last Saturday. It worked out for the children and I to tag along and we had a wonderful time!

Here are some shots from the event and from our explorations...

The beautiful home our hosts had for us to enjoy...

And the breathtaking view from said home...

We knew that Hurricane Sandy had brought some snow to areas south of us and it was a beautiful sight to see on the tops of the mountains...

Visting Papa Bob's grave site...

Sliding Rock in Pisgah National Forest...

Crazy parents...

Looking Glass Falls...

It was so wonderful to see my cousin, Denise, and her family...

Hannah and Emma...

Aunt Winky and Uncle Jamie...Love you guys!!! xo

Photo of Aunt Dot, my Dad and Uncle Jamie...

We had fun going to Harper's football game (and they won, which means they go to the Superbowl!)...

If you're ever in Brevard, don't miss the fabulous downtown area. Maya bought a white squirrel at O. P. Taylor's and here we are enjoying a snack at Rocky's Soda Shop!

We had a nice surprise while we were in NC. Our sweet friend, Shelby, whom we had known in Texas, let us know that she lived close by to where we were staying. We finally got to meet her hubby and two precious children.

One of the highlights of this road trip was honking, waving and clapping for the power companies and disaster relief teams who were heading to or coming back from the areas impacted by Hurricane Sandy.

Blessings on your night, as you watch the election coverage.

We continue to be on our knees for this great country!
